Volleyball, soccer and football high school all-star games scheduled for this week.


There are three high school all-star events scheduled this week, beginning with a senior all-star volleyball game at Ripon Christian on Wednesday night. There will also be a boys and girls all-star soccer games at Le Grand High on Saturday and the 50th Lions All-Star Football game on Saturday at Tracy High School, which will include a girls flag football game and a boys game to follow.
The senior boys Volleyball All-Star Game at Ripon Christian on Wednesday is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. The game is free to the public. Livingston's Mike Alvernaz and El Capitan's Karen Peterson were selected to coach. Buhach Colony's Anthony Nieto-Virrey, Livingston's Gurvir Singh and Bradley Kaji and El Capitan’s Tyler McCreary will play in the game.
MUHSD athletes will also be well represented in the Central Valley All-Star Soccer Game at Le Grand High. The game will showcase boys and girls soccer athletes from the Central California Conference and the Southern Athletic League with both leagues squaring off against each other in boys and girls games. The girls game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. and the boys game to follow at 7 p.m.
Representing the CCC for the girls game will by Atwater’s Sydney Machado, Buhach Colony’s Chisa Wood, Genna Trosen, Julissa Duran, Ryen Cardosa and Sofia Alcorn, El Capitan’s Bailee Moniz, Evelynn Baeza, Isabella Magana, Isabella Pantoja, Golden Valley’s Jenalee Villanueva, Los Banos’ Jammie Calderon, Madelyn Silva and Liliana Sandoval and Merced’s Ayasha Beavers, Keira Moua and Payton Carter. El Capitan’s Andrew Pangelina will coach the CCC team.
The CCC boys team members are Atwater’s Adan Cisneros, Angel Garcia, Anthony Ramirez, Chris Alvarez, Christian Cisneros, Ricardo Abundiz, Omar Elayle and Tony Covarrubias, Buhach Colony’s Bennett Stoddard and Fabian Contreras, El Capitan’s Andres Aguilar and Evan Zaragoza, Golden Valley’s Carlos Barragan-Pena and Daniel Araujo, Los Banos’ Blake Carrillo, Bryan Jimenez, Elias Salvatier and Max Solano and Merced’s Bryan Cortez, Isaia Hernandez and Raymond Gonzalez. The CCC boys will be coached by Atwater’s Matthew Brewer. Tickets for the games will be $10 general admission and $7 students K-12, first responders & law enforcement.
MUHSD players suiting up for the South in the 5oth Lions All-Star Football Game on Saturday will be Kaleb Caudillo, Vicente Cortez, Hayden Czirban and Koy Wicker, El Capitan’s A.J. Jones and Lorenzo Peters and Golden Valley’s Jaden Smith. The South team will be coached by Hilmar High’s Frank Marques.
The boys game will follow the girls flag football game that is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. The South team will be coached by Atwater co-head coaches Nathan Ramirez and Capri Abbasi. Their roster will include Merced’s Amiya Brown, El Capitan’s Madysen Dietz, Atwater’s Saige Harcksen, Riley Leonardo, Natalia Melgoza and Mckel Narin and Parker Reed and Buhach Colony’s Savannah McGhee and Livingston’s Olivia Costa. Tickets for the game will be $15.
